Why Are My Airpods So Quiet

Why are my airpods so quiet? Many consumers are wondering why their Airpods aren’t as loud as before.

Apple explained that the headphones got quieter due to dirt and earwax accumulating over time, blocking and muffling their sound.

Wearable technology such as the Apple Airpods can often be very quiet.

Most people don’t realise this but loudness is impacted by dirty and damaged hardware caused from earwax, dirt, and sweat that accumulates over time on the inside of the speakers.

By removing this build-up, you can get your wearable tech to sound louder again. One way to do this is by using a clean and dry toothbrush or even a Q-Tip!

1. Clean your Airpods

Now that might seem like a bit much to swallow, but if you think about it, there are some easy-to-understand scientific principles at play when we think about the sound quality or volume on your fine AirPods Pro decreasing.

For example, when a pair of AirPods Pro hasn’t been properly cleaned for a couple of months, and the sides start to smell a little funky, it might be due to earwax build-up!

The good news is that this is also a very fixable issue you can take care of by simply cleaning out earwax and getting your beloved headphones back into tip-top shape again.

Take good care of your AirPods. Use a clean, dry toothbrush or similar item to remove dirt and grime from your AirPods gently.

If they are filthy, you can use a Q-Tip to clean out the dirtiness in your AirPods, just the same way you would clean out the filth in your actual ears.

2. Turn off Low Power Mode

If you have your iPhone in Low Power Mode, the volume on your AirPods will be decreased. To make your AirPods louder, consider disabling Low Power Mode.

However, even though there is no logical reason for this to happen, it still does. If your iPhone is in Low Power Mode, the volume of any headphones you’re using will be diminished.

If you’ve noticed that your AirPods haven’t been playing all that loud recently, check your iPhone settings to ensure the Low Power Mode toggle is off, and there won’t be any doubt as to why! But don’t forget to charge up ASAP!

3. Update Software

Your phone, laptop, or tablet may need a software update, or it may be experiencing issues of its own.

If that’s the case, your device might also be causing a problem with your AirPods and making them play audio at a lower volume.

If you’ve been experiencing other issues with your AirPods, such as a failure to connect or a tendency to only play in one ear, it may have something to do with your device.

Check if there is any software or firmware currently installed onto the device your AirPods were used with. Also, quarantine your device and ensure it’s not overrun with malware or other destructive viruses.

Sometimes all that’s needed to solve the issue is to restore the device to factory settings!

4. Hardware Issue

One of the reasons it’s essential to take care of your AirPods is that they are liable to break like any other pair of wireless earbuds on the market.

When you’re on a long flight and can’t remember that pesky bag of yours, or when you’re out running and don’t have time to bring them in their carry case with you, your ear pods will likely be lost forever.

While there isn’t a way around this outcome (other than keeping track of your AirPod case more closely), we recommend checking out Apple Air Pods as this site has some practical methods for getting your handset.

Back if it does happen to run away from home!

5. Airpods Battery About to Die

If your AirPods seem to be dying after being in the charging case for a long time, you may want to charge them up more.

Apple AirPods have a (much) longer-lasting battery life than most wireless earbuds because they use W1 chip technology that powers a high-efficiency built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

Which is designed for providing over 24 hours of listening time and up to 18 hours of talk time on one full charge when listening consistently at 80%.

It’s not uncommon for AirPods to be too quiet. Most of the time, lowering the volume on your AirPods, disconnecting your phone from Bluetooth, reducing your phone’s volume, and then reconnecting it should solve it.

Thank you for your time. Have a nice day!
